First Doctor's Visit

So we went to the Doctor's on Thursday afternoon. It wasn't anything exciting, but it made the whole experience seem more real. We are going to go for our first ultrasound within the next few weeks, hopefully. It is getting more and more exciting, and more real, at the same time. Devynn has bought some clothes for the baby, and some for herself, but it's hard to buy clothes for a baby that you don't know the sex of.
Speaking of babies that you don't know the sex of, I just want to put some names out there that Devynn says aren't possiblities, but that I like. For a boy, I like Tazewell (and call him Taze), and for a girl, I like Kezia. I know it's a little black, but I still like it a little. We have other names, too, but those are the ones we are having debates on.

It's sinking in......I think

Well, I have had a little time to think about being a dad. Not enough, though, I think. Really, though, I am super excited. Devynn and I already talk to "Peanut" as we have chosen to call him/her. I know it sounds weird, but if that sounds weird, hey, you don't know us that well. You should invite us over for dinner so we can get to know you!
I am thrilled for the prospect to have a little baby. I already want to shop for it and buy it things, but we don't have any money, so that won't happen just yet. Soon enough, though. We haven't felt it kick yet, but I guess Devynn says you have to wait awhile. I guess a grain of rice just doesn't have enough strength to kick that hard.

First post

Well, this is the deal. I am trying to create an online journal, mainly for myself (and my wife), but I also want to create a place to record my thoughts and feelings on being a soon-to-be parent. I apologize if it isn't always up to date, but I hope that it will be a place that other people can go to find out about our experiences on this path to parenthood.
